In my artistic work, I explore the human influence on the sea and our associated emotions. In cooperation with scientists, authors, collectives and the sea as an active actor, I explore questions about new possible forms of human and non-human coexistence, connection and cross-species learning. Since 2018, I have been working on micro- and macroplastics and the role of algae in the oceans, especially in seemingly untouched places such as the deep sea and the Arctic. I work with experimental, analog and digital photography, often leaving their two-dimensionality and create expansive, walk-in objects that have been shown internationally in galleries and public spaces (Berlin, Copenhagen, Nice, Oberammergau). My aim is always to create moments of contact, connection or interaction based on my own artistic position. In workshops and collective-participative work, I explore questions of individual or collective action, authorship and co-creation.Together with Gernot Seeliger, I run the producers‘ gallery Heit Berlin, which focuses on site-specific exhibitions.
