In my artistic work, I explore the human influence on the ocean and our emotions associated with it. In
collaboration with scientists, writers, and the sea as an active actor, I explore questions
of new possible forms of human and non-human coexistence, of touch and cross-species
learning.
Working with experimental, analog and digital photography, often camerafree, I invite my environment to a collaborative expression.
I am interested in learning how to approach a landscape photographically without limiting it with the camera, without capturing or taming it. Often conventional landscape photography seems invasive, heroic or distant, so I have chosen to leave out the camera and invite the non-human world – the earth, the water, the algae, the plastic, the wind – to become actors in their own right for a shared photographic drawing.
The paper is the stage, the script is written by the landscape, the sun exposes.
